Andie Belkoff, MD

Dr. Belkoff’s treatment paradigm lays in the holistic understanding of each person she helps. She understands that mental health is complex, and her work is tailored to address both the symptoms someone is experiencing as well as the underlying factors contributing to each patient’s unique struggles. Afterall, she understands that medication alone is just part of the full picture of her patients’ mental and emotional wellbeing and treatment.

Dr. Belkoff’s approach is empathetic and non-judgmental. Her goal is to create a safe, nurturing space for her patients to openly share their thoughts and feelings with emphasis placed on fostering a strong therapeutic relationship with each person with whom she works. It is through this relationship that most of the healing and growth occurs.

Dr. Belkoff completed a 4 year B.S. at Emory University where she majored in Biology and minored in Spanish. After graduating from college, she moved back to where she grew up in Philadelphia to earn her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. Following medical school, she went on to complete her Psychiatry residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

While at Jefferson, Dr. Belkoff served as the Inpatient Chief Resident during her third year of residency, followed by the Outpatient Chief Resident during her fourth year. As Chief Resident, Dr. Belkoff acted to positively change and advance the residency program through collaboration with other program leaders and departmental administrators at Jefferson. Throughout residency, Dr. Belkoff additionally served as a passionate advocate for trainee wellbeing. She developed and shaped the wellness curriculum for psychiatry residents to further support the mental health of her colleagues, and thereby improved patient care in the hospital and outpatient settings.

Dr. Belkoff is well equipped and enjoys working with patients of all ages. Through her training in general psychiatry she has extensive experience treating the child and adolescent population. She plans, additionally, to undergo further 2-year training to further develop true mastery in this sub-specialty of patient demographic. She has expertise in women’s mental health, anxiety, mood disorders (including depression, anxiety disorders, and bipolar disorder), PTSD, ADHD, and substance use disorders.
